When choosing net curtains we take into account the necessity of buying the curtain rod. At the first sight it is quite simple task. However, we must think over several aspects.
The curtain rod is as important in window design as the fabric itself. Therefore, it should be appropriately adjusted to the shape of the window, type of the fabric, interior decoration and above all to the effect we aspire to achieve.
Lately, the most popular curtain rod has been the traditional curtain bar. It is made of various materials: wood, plastic or metal; finished off with refined ornaments. Consequently, we will definitely find something suitable for our window design.
If we decide to hang net curtains and curtains at the same time, obviously we should choose the double rod. However, there is also string curtain rod on the offer which works on the similar basis - the only difference is that there is a filament instead of bar on which the fabric hangs.
In case of windows with non-standard shapes this type of curtains rods does not perform well. Definitely, it is better to choose curtain rails then. They can have various shapes thanks to which we can adjust them to any window.
However, we must remember that curtain rod is not only supposed to be practical curtain binding but also one of the most important decor elements. Therefore, let’s select carefully its colour and trimming motifs.
The next important step is optimal place for the installation of the curtain rod . It may seem that it is enough to attach it to the wall in any place - somewhere above the window. However, we must be careful because wrong installation may make it difficult for us to get easy access to the window as well as disturb interior proportions.
The optimal solution is usually putting the rod symmetrically that is at 1/3 of the distance from the upper cavity edge to the ceiling. However, it should not be less than 10 cm above the window keeping 20cm from both cavity sides to the walls.
Installation requires precision so such instruments as spirit level and try square would be useful. When we have already finished the less pleasurable part of work we can proceed to the decoration of window with chosen fabrics.

A proper insulation of standalone house is important for quiet and warm indoor atmosphere. Usually, the insulation is made on newly build building, but older houses are nowadays insulated to improve heating capabilities of walls. Insulating is simple process that do not demand high or specialist skills- only thing you need is time, walls and materials. Before laying an insulation, the wall should be clean and stable. That means necessity of removing all loose areas and dust from surface. Second step is priming the wall. Especially if the wall is already covered by plaster, the surface must be primed – it will improve stickiness and durability of glue that will stick plasterboards. Next step is laying the plasterboards – it is made of light Styrofoam, and sold in 10-board packets. Firstly put ca. 10 blobs of glue, size of an apple on board and starting from lower starting bar, press the board to the wall. The plasterboards will stick and keep on position by glue. Remember to keep horizon of boards. The glue dries about 2-3 days.
